Where will your children find their heroes?

Welcome to our high energy youth program for Preschool through grade 6!

Perhaps you have asked yourself, “Do I want my children to learn something about the classic Bible stories… to recognize and be comfortable with the Hebrew alphabet… to learn a little bit more about the holidays?” And most importantly… do you want your child(ren) to see Jewish life as something fun and exciting? If so, please join us for Shabbat Connect!

Why is it on Saturday morning? Because this is our holy day and there are Jewish traditions that happen on this day that we want our kids to be part of. We welcome the whole family because it’s not just a program for the children to “do Jewish” but to be a part of their own Jewish family and for families to celebrate Shabbat together.

The educational piece is only one part, because we believe that building community is just as important and lasting. We look forward to opportunities for our kids and for ourselves to get to know each other and have fun together so we can make and deepen lasting friendships!

We will start out meeting on Zoom &/or in-person outside, twice a month, roughly every other Shabbat. Whichever way we gather, we will have Shabbat songs, Hero Stories, and lots of family fun while we learn!

Shabbat Connect is free of charge.

Hebrew Language Program

First class Saturday, September 12@ 12:45 p.m.

New this year, we are offering a Hebrew language component, in order to foster more understanding of the Shabbat service, as well as prep for the B’nai Mitzvah program. Our Hebrew Language teacher is Judith Helman, a former religious school principal and longtime Bar and Bat Mitzvah tutor. This program is open to 5th-6th graders, though we have some flexibility to include a slightly wider age range.

Though we hope to be outside, in-person, at least to make connections with each other, we know that there will be some distance learning element(s) to the program

  • Saturdays        12:45-1:45 p.m.
  • Wednesdays   5:30-6:15 p.m.
