A Message from the Ritual Committee Chair
Shalom! My name is Alisa Israel Goldberg, and I am the incoming chair of the BIJC Ritual Committee. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or ideas about religious services at BIJC. Please feel free to email me at ritcom@bnaiisrael.net.

Shabbat Service  is from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.  Torah Service begins at around 10:45 a.m.

Kiddush for Shabbat Services — We're pleased to announce that the Center is providing challah, bagels, lox, cream cheese, hummus, coffee and tea for the Shabbat Kiddush. If you would like to add a dairy dish to what we are able to offer, please bring something to share. Donations are also appreciated. Write the word "Kiddush" on your check or on the online donation payment note. Click here to donate online. If you would like to host a Shabbat Kiddush, call the office at (707) 762-0340. Learning Synagogue Skills
Is your siddur-reading Hebrew a bit rusty? Would you like a refresher on how to chant the blessings for an aliyah? Have you always wanted to learn Torah or Haftarah trope? Is there something else you’d like to learn to feel more comfortable and confident in services? We would like to help you! Please contact Alisa at ritcom@bnaiisrael.net to express your interest.

Torah Study Group meets prior to Shabbat Service, from 9:00-9:30 a.m. in person and via Zoom. All are welcome to join, and volunteer to lead, a discussion. The Zoom link is the same as the Shabbat Service link.

Friday Evening Shabbat gatherings: We are planning to have four seasonal Kabbalat Shabbat events in the coming year. Stay tuned for details!

In order to protect our members and the integrity of our Shabbat service, we do not share Zoom links publicly. The link to our Zoom Shabbat services is sent with the BIJC Newsletter each Wednesday and Friday. If you do not receive the Newsletter you may email Zoom@bnaiisrael.net to request the Zoom link.

  • 12:15 or 12:30 P.M. Kiddush lunch begins between
  • 12:45 or 1:00 P.M. Tish begins

Our plan is to re-evaluate after a few months to see how it’s working. If you have suggestions or feedback on the new schedule, please let us know.
